GES Teacher Promotion Letters to Be Dispatched from August 15, 2026
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued an update for teachers who passed the promotion examination, confirming that work on the promotion letters is currently underway and setting out clear dates for when those letters — and the accompanying salary adjustments — should arrive.
What the GES Notice Says
The release (Ref: GES/HQ/PR/26/149), dated July 28, 2026, sets out four points:
- GES Management is working on the promotion letters for all teachers who passed the promotion examination.
- The letters will be sent to the Regional Education Directorates from August 15, 2026, which will then distribute them to the qualified teachers.
- Those teachers will be placed on the appropriate salary scales by August 31, 2026.
- Management thanked staff for their cooperation throughout the process.
What This Means for You
If you sat and passed the promotion examination, there is no separate application or follow-up step described in this notice — the letters are being prepared centrally and pushed down through your Regional Directorate.
